Our Story

Our story began several years ago after watching “The Biggest Little Farm” on Netflix.  The show inspired us and we both knew in the moment, it was time to do something completely different and leave the corporate world behind.  From there the brainstorming began.  What do we do? When to do it?  And how to do it?  Knowing that acquiring land was the least of our worries and having access to some farm equipment, we could focus on the what and the when.  With the idea set in motion and lots of research and discussions, we landed on the idea of growing garlic and in 2019 with a “grow garlic” course under our belts, 54 gloves of seed garlic and a dream of working for ourselves, a new career path started to unfold.

Only a few short years ago, on a cool windy October afternoon we planted our first garlic cloves, 54 to be exact, in raised beds of marine compost over flattened yard waste bags and covered with straw for winter protection.  The following spring all the cloves sprouted and grew, although our first challenge was revealed... wireworms but we didn't let that deter us.  We hit the books, did lots research and learned how to control and in most cases, remove the wireworm problem.

Now four years later we are slowly leaving the corporate world behind us.  Soon enough, we'll exchange the hustle and bustle of the city for the country, wide open spaces and ocean breeze.  Getting back to nature and contributing to the production of clean healthy sustainable produce feels pretty darn nice.
